2015: Guest Room and Bar
In 2015, I started renovating the guest room in the former Gemeindebüro. The room itself was fully plastered, and a slate floor was laid. In the adjacent space, where the wellness area will be later, a bathroom for the guest room was built. This required extensive plumbing work.
The guest room had to be ready by early June because we planned to celebrate a family weekend at the Schloss at that time.
Before the summer, I built the bar in the dining hall, and in the fall, I continued with finishing work, mainly in the hallway and dining hall: sealing edges, painting, touching up ceilings and walls, and so on.
In November, I finally took the first steps for the permit application. I hired an architect and had discussions with the Bauordnungsamt and Denkmalschutz. Hopefully, by the summer of 2016, these permits will be approved so that I can start on the first floor.
